SMT Accounting Pty Ltd is a registered tax agent practice based in Shepparton North, in Victoria's Goulburn Valley. We look after individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts and self-managed super funds — locally, and across Australia by phone, email, WhatsApp and video.
What we set out to do
Most people's complaint about accountants is the same: you pay for expertise and get a queue. Questions wait, the person changes each year, and the bill arrives with surprises. SMT Accounting is built to do the opposite — a practice small enough that the accountant who quotes your work is the one who does it, and organised enough that nothing falls through the cracks.
"Partners in Business Success" is on our logo because it is the point of the firm. Compliance — returns, BAS, payroll — is the floor, not the ceiling. The part that changes a business is the conversation around the numbers: what they mean, what to do next, and what to stop doing.

What we don't do
We provide tax agent and accounting services. We are not licensed financial advisers, so we do not recommend investments, insurance or super funds; we are not lawyers; and SMSF audits must be done by an independent approved auditor. Where you need one of those, we can introduce you to an independent professional — you engage them directly.
